I did my shift last night and it was oh so painful…

staying up 6 hours from 12 to 6am because i have to not because i want to? it felt like forever! and i swear, the last 30 minutes felt like 6 hours. and only had 5 hours sleep so i am going down for a kip soon actually.

today we did the roleplay thing and i got to be a bit of a girly knight, and brought this GORGEOUS gown of diamonds and sapphires for 2000GP. How could i afford it? We travelled back in time 3 years somehow and ended up at the coronation of an empress that I am supposed to look like, and we of course knew who won the Tourney! so we did what we had to, to raise extra funds! sounding a bit Back to the Futureish? *grins*

50 crowns (almost a kings ransom) since thats actually 500GP to win on some outsider guy with odds of 19/1. Well he won, we closed down the betting for the rest of the day, and i promptly spent my half of the winnings on getting the ultimate ball gown! My character feels like cinderella! I so rock! then the next problem was getting INTO the coronation, which we managed more ass than class, creating an illusion that we had a legal invitation, which died just as the herald was about to announce us, however, Xim using his charm and hypnosis suggested he saw the name, and announce us anyway.. and YES we’re in! what a night its going to be.

its been a busy week for me, so i haven’t really updated anything. work wise, I have been given odd shifts at odd hours so my sleeping pattern seems to be rather hit and miss at the moment. Tonight and tomorrow night, i have to work from 12.00 to 6am. far from revolting.. but not crash hot either.

What is revolting is this heat. Last night when i went to bed it was still 30 degrees. The temp yesterday got to 40.2 at around 4.30 yesterday afternoon, which is very late in the day. I can’t remember the last time tis happened. Perhaps when i lived in Port Hedland? but i can’t be sure. As it stands right now, the temperature at 10.20am is 38.4 degrees, and in all likelihood, it will he 40 degrees if the sea breeze doesn’t come in damn soon to cool things down. For non metric users of temperature scales.. anything about 39 celcius is over 100 in farenheit.

Last year was the hottest year globally, each year for the last 5 i think has bee progressibely higher. You can’t tell me there isnt something wrong with this picture. Just think, the polar icecraps need to melt soon. Won’t that be fun. I might live instead of the 25 kms inland like i do right now, maybe only 5 or 10.

Christmas is coming. Gran is well enough to come. This will be, in all likelihood, her last one. I don’t care what Mark’s mum says. She was unhappy about spending the entire day away at my Aunties house, but I guess she needs to understand that its my family’s first get-together in 6 years. If she wants to get grumpy that’s fine, and bitch about not seeing me on christmas day, that’s fine. If he feels obliged to be at her house, then he can catch a taxi later over to my aunties, then he can do that. Its already caused one fight.

Not that I have mentioned this, but I have developped tonsillitis. The last time I had this condition was 10 years ago. This is the second time I have had it, not like its common. The pain is excruciating. The human body has all sorts of nifty ways of letting You know that You are sick, this is by far the worst of them all that I have experienced to date.

Monday and Tuesday was temperatures, Tuesday night, my throat started aching.. deep pain from the bottom of the jaw radiating into the back of my throat. I got my partner to look in my throat and to my horror, white spots on my tonsils. No sleep Tuesday night until Wednesday morning, where the pain had peaked at about 6am and I was almost hysterical with pain. My partner knows I have a high tolerance for pain, being able withdstand second degree burns without too much of a fuss. So to say I was almost hysterical unfortunately is not an understatement. I waited up until I was so tired that sleeping wouldn’t matter, however, being tonsillitus I was awake within 2 hours in pain once more and scrabbling to fine more pain killers.

Last night, was just as bad, pain peaked at about 3am. No sleep there until about 6, woke up at 8, went back to sleep at 12 and woke again at 2.30. on and off sleeping. I still had to do the mail to get the invoices sent out for the business so I did that, and now at 7.30 I am already having difficulty once more in swallowing to the point that I am only swallowing if I can help it, once every 10 minutes. I went to the doctors yesterday and got some antibiotics, but nothing is happening yet. I have taken 4 pills so far, they should be kicking in soon dammit. Also found out about my hormone levels. wrong numbers. instead of the high result, I got one in the average range which to me was abnormal. I didn’t fast this time cuz I was told I didnt have to, I range the other people and they said that not fasting would have had a significant effect on the result. The doc didnt seem inclined todo anything, and as these other people were like, no biggie just go on the diet anyways I was like.. hang on.. I need to know which number is the right one. So I need to find someone else to give me another test. So frustrating.

i need sleep.
