Well this is going to be an IRC post.

AustNet has been DoS’d by some script kiddy who decided to flex his e-muscles. When will someone get off their ass and get the police involved? If they haven’t, then they need to do it soon.

So currently there are 4 servers working. However most people can connect to the servers with no problems. Others using cable/broadband from telstra can’t connect. Sorry if that is anyone reading this, but i think it’s to protect the remaining servers from attacks until they figure out how to protect them.

They’ve said on the new page on Austnet that it’s technical difficulty, and I don’t know anything else except that one server has delinked, which sucks big time. This is a lame post. *sigh* Or not.. here is a joke..

I’ve been blah for the last few days. Personal issues have really affected my concentration for work, for functioning. I’ve started having nightmares again, There’s no motivation to do anything. I am lacking the ability to talk to my best friend because they are off - leaving me behind and I feel like my left arm has been removed. *breathes deeply to focus* I have been finding it really hard to do any work at all, the 5 hour meeting i had the other day was painful, with S and X doing most of the talking. I have been staring at the same help email for 10 minutes trying to figure out what they want.

Then today there was a problem found when mail failures were being closed and not deleted, so it’s making our support statistics look really bad. X and S went off at the staff, I was supposed to be participating but instead I was helping the austnet email list when an IRCop glined telstra. So inbetween answering emails for work, emails for Austnet and the yelling at people by X and S, I just wasnt interested. I will need to read the logs so I know what they were bitching about.

*stares at msn with her friend’s msn whilst they are on the phone* I guess I need to go to bed.

The Case of the sneaky employee..

Well last week I cleared out the mailbox for work as I should have done previously, but I have been putting it off - it really is a horrible job. Since then however email arrives but does not stay in the box, it gets mysteriously moved. Who is doing this? I surely am not doing this work, and yet, it’s part of my duties.. so I look to the problem employee, and WOW!! it’s her!! How did I guess? Because no one else gives a shit about the email in there, and if she can claim she’s the one tidying up well then, she looks good.. “lori doesn’t do it, I do” so I asked her to stop because I liked to see what mail was in there first and give other staff time to read it before being moved.

War n stuff

So onto more popular topics.. like, Israel and the US with its comedy of errors. The US has seen fit to give away more palestinian land to Israel, whilst Israel assassinates Hamas leaders, so Hamas have a new leader who’s anonymous because they’d like to keep him around for more than 3 weeks, which is how long the replacement lasted after the initial Hamas attack. Meanwhile, palestinians must live in conditions which mirror concentration camps. That should bring back a few memories for some israelis still in power..

I learnt something new last night, that Russia lost 20 million of its people fighting the germans between 1941 and 1943 between Stalingrad and Leningrad and other places. 20 Million people exterminated by the 6th Army, Germany’s largest, strongest and most successful army up until 1943… The Russians lost more people than every other country combined including the Jews. I also found out that out of the 250,000 soldiers in the 6th Army, only 6000 men returned home.

After finding out all this information, I didn’t feel like sleeping much. I was too busy contemplating 20 million people, which is the entire population of Oz.

I have been listening to a really cool internet webradio site for the last few days. Tonight, DJ Fab is mixing and he does a really good job.

Well the friend hasn’t logged on.. except for a couple of hours last night. So i guess they’re taking serious time out.

I haven’t been in a mood today to be too happy, just feel frustrated. I believe one of my staff/co-workers is trying to do a bit of political manuevering to make me look like I am .. incompetant. I think I have picked up on it soon enough to start stomping down on her and bringing her back into line. I talked to my boss about it and she’s noticed that I have started acting a little cold when talking about her.

Basically this chick has been notifying everyone about when I make a mistake.. and doing it in such a way to try and embarrass me and make me look like a dickhead. I am not in the mood to detail it, but its small things which when looked at from a distance become a theme..

Ever get the feeling that sometimes when talking to a friend/loved one/whatever and they get upset, its a trainwreck that can’t be stopped? I had that feeling tonight. It’s hard being friends with people on IRC when you can’t see them, can’t hear them so when they get upset or angry you don’t pick up on it early enough to diffuse and when You do see the problem, it’s too late. I felt like i was baited in a way, to get a reaction, because nothing I said right, not that I wanted to say the right thing, but everything I said was wrong. So it results in two people feeling like crap. Stupid me, stupid stupid me. I wanted to ask what could I do to help, if anything. Then I feel like it’s my fault because I asked them for help, which ended up with them getting pissed off at the world in general.

I wonder if there’s a counter for all the people that would have died due to lack of food, medical resources, and freedom of speech but have instead been saved now that the dictatorship has been overthrown. I’m sure 10715 would seem like a very small number indeed

I totally agree, the people who had died during the regime would outnumber those who have been killed in the last 12 months.

The Iraq war is not a legal one, despite the UN resolutions broken. The US can not pick and choose the wars they fight. (see Israel breaking countless UN resolutions) - I couldn’t give a rat’s ass about Saddam Hussein. I would like the US and the rest of the Anti Terrorism coalition to go back to Afghanistan and search under every rock, and find the man responsible for most of the terrorist acts around the world over the last 12 years and either kill him, or bring him to justice.
