Abort! this is not a FamilyFirstFriendlyPost
So I’ve been doing a bit of reading about the abortion debate here in Oz. I have decided that the only people who think they are qualified at having an opinion about it, are some of the loud Pro-lifer religions men in federal parliament. Granted, there are some women who also share the same views. However, the loudest politicians at the moment are the pro-lifers who seem to be religious, and either sucking off the ArchBishop or in bed with FamilyFirst and not able to seperate the idealism of church and state. I think they don’t actually represent the mindset of the general population.
I support a woman’s right to choose - there are many reasons and it’s all been documented many times and me sprouting off the same reasons can be seen as trite. The war cry of “keep your rosaries off my ovaries” I think’s a good one. The Government needs to stop listening to different religious demoninations and keep religion out of politics and let the church leaders look after their flock’s souls and the politicians look after the people’s lives.
