a compulsory blog post so I can remain popular *cough*
I was reading an article a friend gave me about A-listers in blog land, and how people link to them, and try and get A-lister’s attention and get those much covetted hits that some bloggers seem to crave so much. Then someone who is part of the A crew told his friends not to talk to the guy who wrote THIS ARTICLE so some didn’t. Apparently their readers get upset if they don’t post alot so really, blogging becomes a chore rather than a pleasure.
So apparently B listers and C listers also suffer from blog envy and desperately wanna become the A-listers who end up being popular, and make money from their sites and that usually there’s a set formula with these types of blogs. They are right. Pithy comments, tossed in with some innuendoes, witticisms and voila! popular blog. If only I had such an interesting life that I could write like that….
NOT
I think I am a DILLIGAF-lister. I enjoy reading my blog roll people, and I DGAF if they are A B C or X listers, as long as they remain true to themselves.

I worked out the DGAF acronym but what does DILLI stand for?

As soon as blogging ceases to be fun for me - thats when i cease to blog.
As for A Listers - popularity doesn’t a good blog make

I quite often NOT read blogs simply becasue they are too popular….. I like to think that comments I make are not wasted on the person running the blog.. hell, they might just have a problem I have a good solution for, or we can engage in intelligent banter between two individuals..
All too often I feel that ‘A-list’ bloggers couldn’t give a shit about the people write back… not becasue they’re assholes or shallow or anything, but simply beacause there is too many voices for one to be heard…

The blog divisions are just stupid. I’ve posted about the cliques before and it gets up my nose something fierce. There is also one hell of a bitchy element that i can’t stand.
I get a lot of comments. I appreciate each and every one. But if nobody commented tomorrow i wouldn’t stop blogging. I do it for ME and if others like it. Well and good. If the don’t. I couldn’t give a rats.

I’m the same Steph.. to be honest I’ve posted for years with no comments, and if they vanished tomorrow I’d keep posting. On the other hand, the comment posters become friends, so it’s a good way of making new ones.

I used to care about hits and the like; now I’m more interested in people commenting on things I’ve posted, making their own appearance and reading me regularly, as I do to others (like you, lol).
The blogranking system was part of the reason I left Journalspace - there are too many people sucking up to each other on there, everything is just a bit too *nice*!
