Ooh Crikey!! Hi there world.
So.. Steve Irwin died.
The world grieves, Australia grieves. I first heard of him in 2001, from MM. Had no idea who he was, and had to go searching on the interweb. Found out and was like.. who the hell is this guy? A few months later, we started seeing him on TV, then the movie came out and I and many of my friends were like .. who the hell is he? It was over-the-top cheesiness, and cringe worthy, but there was a small part in every person who I knew, who had a little bit of that cringe factor. It’s sad that he had a huge following for 10 yrs overseas before he became popular in AU. I think we missed out on something wonderful. He quickly became the symbol for austalia, and when I travelled was asked often if i WAS an aussie, because my mild aussie private school educate perth accent, was not ocker enough. My reply was, not everyone is from North Queensland!
So now I have joined a vast majority of bloggers from the blogiverse who wrote about Steve. I’ve done my bit. Crikey! Travel well, and you left a better world than you found it.
